Feed your soul with acts of kindness…
Human beings as created by God, exist in both physical and spiritual forms. We were formed with a heart filled with love to love God and all things created, therefore we should be good, as we were formed with a pure Soul by God in our Mother’s womb.
Our Soul is the center of who we are. It is the life in us beyond the world and enclosed within our physical body. The Soul is the eternal part of you, the non-physical part of you that can never die – who you truly are deep down. It is eternal and divine.
So the “I” in us is our soul, the most valuable part of our Being that connects with God while bearing his Image and likeness in this world.
“The Soul is the basic level of life in an individual and one that is by nature rooted in God” — Dellas Willard
As the human body needs food, so also does the soul need nourishment, which is not physical fleshly food but good thoughts, good words, and good deeds – showing love and care – such that when we remain on the right path our soul is nourished and this pleases God. Whenever your thoughts, speech, and deeds are good, you please God and your soul is fed.
We need to feed our soul with the word of God, place trust in Him, and follow Him, doing what He asks of us while believing in Jesus Christ the redeemer of mankind.
God looks at the heart, so make your heart pure and guard it jealously. Do not starve your soul with evil thoughts of hate and wrong acts of covetousness, immorality, drunkenness, idolatry, lying, stealing, killing, and wickedness.
Instead, feed the soul by loving God and one another. Do not mistreat yourself, and anyone, even those who hate and hurt you, for they already will be punished by God.
Focus on your soul being good always. Listen to your inner self as a guide for your thoughts, deeds and what you say, for only good and pure souls through Jesus will know peace in this earthly life and hereafter be in Paradise with God. Be wise and take time to do what makes your soul happy.
“Seek first the kingdom of God above all else and live righteously and He will give you everything you need” — Matthew 6:33
Remember, “Happy are those who wash their garments clean for they will have free access to the Tree of Life and enter the City through the gates.” — Revelations 22:14
The next call may be for you, so feed your soul.
