PUT YOUR LIFE RIGHT WITH GOD

What a fantastic world we live in, its beauty takes our breath away, and often makes us live our lives with less care. This in turn, makes us drift from the purpose and essence of our lives.

God awaits us to come back to Him. 

All we need do is tell God how sorry we are for disobedience, for doing wrong, that is not loving God and not loving neighbor as ourselves. Then we begin to do what is right to produce fruit in keeping with repentance, in order to please God. (Luke 3: 8)

Sounds easy, right? But it’s not.

Be in communication with God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) in prayer for what you should do. Only with help from God through Jesus Christ can we please God.

The ax is already at the root of the trees, and every tree that does not produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.” (Luke 3:9)

“What should we do then?” the crowd asked. John the Baptist answered, 

“Anyone who has two shirts should share with the one who has none, and anyone who has food should do the same.”  Be the light, show God’s love to others (1 John 4:8)

This is how we please God, that we be our brothers’ keeper, for whatever we have is given to us by God to be used to please Him, for His glory. 

Know that, what God blesses us with is to be shared with those who do not have, especially if we have more. Always remember that we are storehouses for God, to the glory of God.

True, it is difficult to share what we have sometimes, but it is possible, and this is what God wants; that we show love to one another especially to those in need.

Even tax collectors came to be baptized. “Teacher,” they asked John the Baptist, “what should we do?”

“Don’t collect any more than you are required to,” he told them. This means Be truthful and honest

Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” John replied, 

“Do not take money from anyone by force, or accuse anyone falsely, and be content with your pay.”  (Luke 3:10-14)

Sometimes we take things for granted and do wrong things, like when we say untrue things about other persons, for different reasons and get them hurt directly or indirectly, this is bearing false witness against others and it is displeasing to God, the father also of the other persons.

Know too that Contentment brings peace and joy. Being content with what we have is a step towards pleasing God and having eternal life.

God also wants us to conduct our daily affairs well in good character and helping other human beings, especially the poor and needy among us; no matter who they are, relations or strangers. This is what it means to show love. 

Show love and forgive the wrong of others. This is what God wants. He who says he loves God, must first proof by love of neighbor whom he sees and live with. 

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. (1 John 4:20)   

Live a life that pleases God. You know who you are… And so, do I.

Let’s appraise ourselves and improve our relationship with God as appropriate.
